Quicker study set-up with the Patient Recruitment Centres

Parexel

On Wednesday 27 September, the Parexel Site Alliance Meeting was hosted by the Patient Recruitment Centre (PRC): Leicester, which is located at Leicester General Hospital.

As part of the meeting Gail Melvin, PRC Research Business Manager, delivered a talk on how the five PRCs can help speed up trial set-up times for commercial research.

The PRCs have been designed to improve the speed and consistency with which commercial research is delivered in the NHS. In 2022/23 the average time for the PRCs, from site initiation to site opening, was 42.5 days, significantly faster than the UK median of 51 days.

The five PRCs work together in a harmonised manner, adhering to the same standard operational procedures (SOPs), to guarantee consistency in approach, level of service and standards. Industry sponsors benefit from working with a dedicated team, with an abundance of commercial expertise and experience, who are 100% focused on delivering commercial research.
